Analysis for Innovators (A4I) Round 5 will open on 29th July, after supporting over 400 companies in the previous four successful rounds.
A4I is a programme that gives UK businesses of any size access to cutting-edge R&D expertise and facilities, through scientific organisations like the UK National Measurement Laboratory (NML) hosted at LGC, to solve problems that they have been unable to tackle using standard technologies and techniques. This might include product reliability, cost or product lifetime.
The NML has participated in each of the previous four rounds, working with companies on a variety of measurement-related problems, including supporting The Coconut Collaborative to develop a screening approach to detect rancid coconut cream and working with Sistemic to increase the sensitivity of their novel technology to detect contamination in cell therapy products.
A briefing event will be held 31 July 2019 in London. Additionally, the detailed scope of Round 5 will be released in mid-July and two roadshow events will take place before the competition opens. The first two events to be held will be at NPL in Teddington on 19 July and at Rutherford Appleton Labs in Oxford on 23 July.
