LGC Biosearch Technologies, a business unit of LGC, announces the acquisition of PolyDesign, a leading manufacturer and supplier of solid support embedded frits used for high throughput, low and ultra-low scale DNA/RNA oligonucleotide synthesis and purification.
PolyDesign manufacture and supply customers with their ‘PolyFrit’ products from their site in Redmond, Washington. The proprietary frit technology complements and aligns with LGC’s current Nucleic Acid Chemistry product portfolio and enhances the company’s Oligonucleotide product capability while supporting important areas of research and development such as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). This addition will further enable customers in critical Molecular Diagnostics and therapeutic applications.
PolyDesign was founded in 2012 by Dr. Hsing-Yeh Parker, developer of the PolyFrit technology, and she will join LGC’s Biosearch Technologies Research and Development team with immediate effect.
