Our partnerships

Measurement is essential to scientific discovery, accelerating innovation and facilitating trade for large and small businesses (2022 UK Measurement Strategy)[1].

We work with partners across the UK to maximise expertise and generate the best environment to support and encourage innovation, improving chemical and biological measurements for the benefit of the public.

Long-term sustainable partnerships and collaborations between ourselves, industry, academia and government provide a route to further strengthen our role and impact within the broader UK research, development and innovation ecosystems.

Our regional partnering approach:

  • We work with partners to ensure that our world-leading measurement research and innovation continues to develop and support
  • We help to connect the best researchers and businesses to support excellence/efficiency improvements in research and manufacturing and leverage inward investment into the UK.
  • We explore self-sustainable partnering models that generate excellent research outcomes and provide Government with better value for money through combining leading scientific expertise.

Through our partnerships based around regional centres of excellence (see map) we can get closer to our end-users. We support sustained productivity improvements at a local level through, e.g. improved access to our partnership programmes, training and capabilities, and provide Government with evidence of better value for money.
